Product Story

Kantha was never born in a workshop — it began on the floor of a Bengal home, where women stitched together saris too worn to wear, one running stitch at a time, until scraps became something worth keeping. That same stitch, patient and unhurried, moves across this yellow silk in tiny dancing figures, spiralling vines, and scattered blossoms — small fragments of everyday life the way Bengal's embroiderers have always told their stories, thread instead of ink.

The pallu holds the centrepiece: a large paisley worked in violet, blue, and rose, framed by nested diamonds and a border of triangular teeth, dense enough to have taken days by a single hand. Bangalore silk gives the yellow its glow without the weight, so all that stitching moves rather than sits still.

One batch, then it's retired for good — because Kantha done properly was never meant to repeat itself.
