Product Story

Old kantha quilts were pieced from whatever cloth was on hand, square joined to square, no two panels quite matching — and this royal blue Bangalore silk saree borrows that same sampler logic. Each block of the border holds its own pattern: zigzag lines here, concentric circles there, a scatter of tonal squares two rows down, all worked in the running stitch that's carried Bengal's needlework for roughly five centuries, this time rendered mostly in shades of blue against blue, so the texture reads before the colour does.

Break from that restraint and the pallu turns celebratory — rows of pennant-shaped triangles in red, green, yellow and orange, strung like flags at a fair, finished with small dotted accents along the edge. It's a saree built on contrast: quiet patchwork giving way to a burst of colour exactly where the eye expects it.

As with every design at Desi Aadat, this one is stitched in a small, uneven batch — worn once by someone, never repeated for anyone else.
