Product Story

White was never the plain choice in Kantha — it was the only choice. Bengal's embroiderers built this craft on old cotton saris gone soft and pale with wear, drawing their colour thread by thread from what was left of the borders. This saree returns to that original ground, letting a garden of tiny dancing figures, spiralling vines, and hand-stitched blossoms in maroon, mustard, and green stand out the way they were always meant to — against white, not competing with it.

The pallu holds the real event: a paisley worked in pink, orange, and green, nested inside diamond after diamond, bordered by a fine triangular edge that must have taken an artisan days to complete without once machine-tracing the line.

We release this in a single small batch. When it sells out, the design doesn't return — some things are worth keeping rare.
