Product Story

Picture a dark ledge on a festival night, lamps lit one after another. That is how this navy silk holds its sunflowers: yellow petals tipped in pink, each seed-head a dark disc crossed in white, every bloom standing on a white stalk with lime leaves. Kantha’s running stitch fills each petal row by row, the dark thread showing through the yellow.

Bands of lime, yellow, pink, and white stitching run between the rows and frame the pallu, and tiny flowers are scattered across the open body. Blended Bangalore silk lets the navy fall deep and soft.

Design Description

The saree is navy blue blended Bangalore silk with a deep sheen, its body left open apart from small five-petal flowers in yellow, white, and lime scattered across it. The pallu is laid out in rows of sunflowers: yellow petals stitched in running stitch with dark thread dotting through them, pink petal tips peeking out behind, and dark seed-head centres crossed in white. Each flower stands on a white double-row stalk with lime-green leaves veined in white.

Bands of parallel Kantha lines in lime, yellow, pink, and white separate each row of sunflowers and frame the pallu on every side, and they repeat along the border and the lower pleats. A plain navy edge closes the pallu end.
